TESTIMONIALS

Kelly has served countless students to excel in not only reaching their educational goals, but also by building confidence in themselves. Check out some of the many testimonials parents have shared with Kelly on how her support has changed their child’s life.

Kelly has made a huge difference in my first grader’s life! Her teaching techniques have opened up a whole new world for him. We’re so happy with his renewed confidence, which has affected his grades, his independence, and his relationships at school. Would certainly recommend to anyone whose child is having difficulties with traditional learning.

Kelly was the answer for my son. She helped him go from an insecure reader to a budding book lover. His time with her boosted his confidence and improved his reading skills. She helped him catch up and get on grade level. Couldn’t be happier with Kelly!

Saioa has made an incredible progress reading and gaining self confidence. I wanted to thank you for the great coach you have been for her. I know that she misses you. Thank you so much, you have made a difference in her life!

What I love most about working with Kelly is that she initially took the time to truly understand my daughter and meet her where she was.  The difference between my daughter having to fit into the structure, pace, and teaching style of her 1st grade classroom versus Kelly developing a unique structure, pace, and teaching style that fit my daughter, WOW!  It has made all the difference and she has truly unlocked my daughter’s potential.  We have seen enormous strides in her reading.  I’m so glad that we made the investment in Kelly so that my daughter would get the foundation and confidence she needs and deserves.

Working with Kelly has really changed the game for us. We noticed a shift after the very first session. The confidence my son now possesses has been the biggest and most important change. The work she does with him has such a ripple effect on our whole family, truly. If my son goes to school with the confidence that Kelly has instilled in him, and uses the tools she has given him to use in the classroom, then he comes from school happy and feeling good about himself, which then translates into a chatty car ride home, sharing a laugh with his sister, breezing through homework, and fun conversation around the dinner table. A good day at school and the feeling that he can do it really does affect everything. Not to mention, seeing your child happy and confident when they have struggled in the past is incredible!

Just wanted to drop you a quick note with a big thank you for all the reading support for my girls. You have rekindled their love for reading, and for that I’m so grateful. Nicole had a lot to catch up on this year and the progress she made, we could not have done without your expertise! Without your help, she may have had to repeat the first grade. The thought of that was pretty devastating to her, and I cannot say enough how much we appreciate your work, while making reading fun and exciting again. Thank you for helping Reagan and Nicole become confident, motivated readers! Forever grateful!

I was very reluctant to go down the path of using a tutor for my daughter at such a young age.  I thought tutors were for high schoolers and what can you do that I can’t do for my own elementary aged child. But I was very wrong!

Kelly’s has given my daughter the individualized help she needed with a calm and patient approach and I have watched her confidence soar this year!  I didn’t believe she would ever be a girl who just picked up a book to read for fun and fast forward 6 months, she comes home and willingly, happily, picks up a book to read while she roller skates around the house. I appreciate all you continue to do for Jaisel and thank you so very much!

Kelly is magical.  She not only helped my 3rd grader get on grade level academically, but she also has managed to help my daughter actually find her confidence. Kelly has shown Sadie what a gift it is to think and process differently.  Kelly makes Sadie feel accepted, instead of as this outlier who doesn’t think the way the rest of the class does.  Kelly gives Sadie tips and tricks for accomplishing tasks that were previously so overwhelming that Sadie would not have even tried.  All the while, Kelly has helped Sadie to see just how powerful her brain really is.
Kelly is a blessing to Sadie and a blessing to us as parents.  Finally finding the person who understands your child’s unique needs and who connects with your child is priceless.

Kelly is such a warm and caring person. She is also an amazingly gifted teacher. My daughter had very little confidence when she started working with Kelly. She quickly formed a bond with Kelly and made amazing progress over the school year. She made great strides in her fluency, comprehension and confidence. I would highly recommend Kelly to anyone who has a child struggling with reading or a child who needs some extra help. Kelly will help build them up and give them the tools they need to succeed. We will forever be thankful for all she has done.

When I met Kelly 16 months ago, my first grader was seriously struggling with reading. He dreaded school, wrestled with his anxiety, and his self esteem took a dive. After assessing him and developing a plan alongside him, Kelly uncovered that he was a right brain learner. She knew exactly what he needed to thrive, and showed him the tools to improve his reading and comprehension. He now reads at above grade level, and when I tell him in the morning that he will be seeing Kelly after school, he actually smiles and looks forward to their session together. Our time with Kelly is priceless and she is an absolute treasure to have on our team!

The other night, our son told us that Kelly saved his life! A bit dramatic but the sentiment is sincere. Before Kelly, he was well below where he should be for his grade level. Now he is above grade level and isn’t afraid to pick up a book! Kelly is patient and diligent in her approach to helping young readers. We are so fortunate to have found her!

Before reaching out to Kelly, I saw my happy 7 year old full of life, zest, and a love of learning; become frustrated, shutting down, and more irritable. I knew something was wrong, but the teachers for the previous two years reassured me that he didn’t have a learning disability “he was behind but he’d catch up.” Then my son informed me how another kid called him stupid for not reading at the same level. I was furious. I knew he was intelligent. His verbal skills were off the chart, he even placed in the gifted class but I also knew his struggle with reading. I too have dyslexia. Turns out so does my husband. I knew statistically the chances were high that our kids may have it as well. I was confused with what to do. The teachers I trusted were telling me it wasn’t a big deal but my intuition said something different.

I work with kids thankfully. A year prior to me reaching out to Kelly, an old client had raved about her and I saw the shift in this child’s confidence so I kept her information in my favorites (after being pleased with what I saw through my own research) just in case. This year my son’s teacher said it would help him catch up “even though he’d be fine without tutoring it just may take a little longer. “ Well, forget waiting I wanted my happy son back and longed for the day he wanted to learn again. Plus, I knew he genuinely had a problem (that’s my old belief, Kelly challenged me on this and now I see his learning style as a gift. Certainly a struggle for him) and was frustrated.

When I called her from the minute I heard her soft kind loving voice I was convinced she was the one to help my family. She started working with my older son who refused initially because I’m sure to some extent he wanted “to be normal” and not have to need extra help. Kelly knew exactly how to connect with him, get him to buy into the team approach and truly understanding the strengths of how his brain works rather than the pathology I was raised in that our system continues to perpetuate. Kelly took extra time to explain her approach, techniques, and get to know us.

Then my younger son’s teacher who is in kindergarten, the opposite of my older son’s experience, was insisting he get tutoring. Kelly provided barriers to his age but never hesitated to help him as well. Making changes to her schedule and meeting place, to reaching out to both kids teachers as their advocates. I swear Kelly is a true gift and I would strongly recommend her to any family who’s child is struggling. Now my kids look forward to meeting with her and my older son recently read in front of 15 people during a holiday meal. Needless to say I was crying reflecting on his journey and perseverance. We would not be where we are now without Kelly and we will forever be grateful to her!
